What's with the Twilight Movie?

pardon my post, but im just curious - what's with the twilight movie that made it a big hit?

was it the story line? the "vampire thing"? or was it because of the cast?

Sa totoo lang tol, di ko rin alam kung bakit madaming nabaliw sa movie na ito.

Mind you, I read the book, then I saw the movie. The book is very entertaining, well-written, but the meat and potatoes of the whole story is about teenage love, spiced with growing pains and anxieties about acceptance and family. And I'm guessing that the movie did so well, simply because it never tried anything different from the book; it was faithful to what was written, and the actors all did quite well in portraying their respective characters. Sa tingin ko, kaya nagustuhan ng mga teenagers ito, kasi nalagyan ng "face" yung mga memorable characters sa book.

Sa aking opinion lang naman ito, ewan ko lang hehe.
